HVAC Technician - (Sewanee) in Chattanooga, Tennessee For Sale

The University of the South invites applications for the position of HVAC Technician. Typical Duties and Responsibilities include: 1. Use of a "work order" system to evaluate projects, general duties, and emergencies; prioritize work and estimate time and materials; gather equipment, tools, and materials needed to complete work orders in a job appropriate time frame. Respond to emergency request as needed.2. Duties include installing and repairing hot water boilers, HVAC package units & split systems, water heaters (gas and electric); installing & repairing piping on building hydronic & chilled water systems; monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing campus DDC systems.3. Troubleshoot and evaluate HVAC related systems to facilitate repairs.4. Provide detailed instruction and direction for other technicians/tradesmen as assigned/directed by your Supervisor5. Assist other tradesmen as needed on special projects and during emergency situations. Respond to call-in and emergency situations regarding HVAC work. Participate in an on-call rotation schedule which provides 24 hour coverage for service request & emergencies related to the campus infrastructure. 6. Perform other related duties as assigned including, but not limited to, construction, brazing & soldering; installing gas piping, grills, etc.; assist in installing and repairing plumbing components as needed; perform control wiring and basic line voltage wiring.7. Provide insight, experience, and training to other tradesman Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent with special training in refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning maintenance. 3 years' experience in HVAC maintenance and repair.
